Kaumudi by Abhishek Majumdar is a thought-provoking play that intertwines themes of art, mythology, and human relationships. It tells the story of Satyasheel, an aging and blind theatre actor renowned for his portrayal of Ekalavya from the Mahabharata. As he prepares for his final performance, he must collaborate with Paritosh, a younger actor set to replace him. The two share a strained relationship, estranged by a tragic past event.

The play weaves parallels between their off-stage conflicts and the mythological narratives of Ekalavya and Abhimanyu, exploring themes of sacrifice, legacy, and truth in art. Influenced by texts like Anand's Vyasam Vigneswaram and Jorge Luis Borges' essay Blindness, Kaumudi also delves into the philosophical nature of theatre itself—questioning whether art reflects truth or illusion.

Performed with a minimalist set design and powerful acting, Kaumudi is celebrated for its layered storytelling and emotional depth
